WELCOME TO
Second Chance Education Center powered by Green Tree Educational Centers is an education-based day center. Our focus is on youth who have been suspended, bouncing around from district to district and youth who are simply not having a healthy experience with traditional education. Currently we are in the Wichita and SEK area and are in negotiations with several districts throughout the state as well as Texas and Nebraska. GTEC as well as all satellite locations are accredited by Cognia.

Lee Reliford, a native of Baltimore City overcame many obstacles as a teenager to become a fierce advocate for saving troubled youth. He attended Baltimore City Community College, Labette Community College, and the University of Central Arkansas. Lee came to Parsons, KS after he completed his college basketball career to start his family. In 2007, Lee created a basketball training program called Future Scholars Club. His goal was to provide the neighborhood kids with quality basketball training and opponents. As a result, he has mentored scores of young people to achieve their goals of college scholarships by playing basketball. One of Lee’s first jobs working with disadvantaged youth was as a DSP for the Youth Crisis Shelter. Mr. Reliford also boasts over 15 years of education-based experience. Employed since 2008 at Labette County High School, he served six years as the Alternative School teacher, four years as a math tutor for IEP youth, and six amazing years as a JAG-K Career Specialist. As a Career Specialist, he helped disadvantaged youth overcome barriers to graduating high school and prepared them for their journey after high school. His JAG-K program was one of the most successful in the region. Lee wanted even broader opportunities to use his passion for helping young people become success stories. After leaving LCHS, he became the Quality Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) Regional Director for Successful Dreams Support Services, Youth Division. We are happy to be partnered with an individual of his expertise in creating great educational alternatives for our youth to successfully reach their goals.
